What you need to know

Without volunteers, our program cannot be successful.  Because of this, we do ask for a minimum number of volunteer hours per family.

For families with players in the 10U program or higher, your minimum requirement is 10 hours of volunteer hours.

For families with players only in the 8U program, your minimum requirement is 4 hours of volunteer hours.

If you have more than one player, volunteer minimum will be the greater number of hours based upon your player's level.

During registration, you can either elect to volunteer or buy out your volunteer hours.  If you choose to buy out your hours, your payment will be collected during online registration.  If you choose to volunteer, you will be charged $1 during the registration process.  If your hours are not completed, the balance of the volunteer payment will be charged on August 9th. Hours can be claimed on the Dibs page of the Becker Blast website.

Volunteer duties include working at our tournaments (Varsity program, 8U Rookie Round-up, or the Blast Freedom Days), Strike Out Cancer Night, spring clean up, 8U umpire nights or working the concession stand during league night games.

Tournament duties include working the concession stand, grilling, field prep, or check-in/info desk.  Each shift for the tournaments is 2-hour shifts and the league night concessions are 3-hour shifts.

Other duties related to each team include and are limited to serving in one of the 3 allotted positions for each team (Head coach, assistant coach, team manager) these duties will fulfill your entire requirement.

The last duty is geared to the 8U families: if you are working as an umpire for an 8U game will give you 1 hour credit.  The team managers or coaches will manage the umpiring duty.

Coaches are not authorized to create additional duties to fulfill your hours, this all needs to be approved by the Blast.

If you have multiple players in the program, either in the same level or in different levels, you will be required to fulfill one player’s requirement at the higher hour requirement.  First example: if you have a player in 8U and a player in the 10U or higher you will be required to fulfill 10 hours of volunteer duties.

Second example: if you have multiple players in 8U, you will only be require to fulfill 4 hours volunteer duties.  .

Lastly, if you have multiple players in 10U or higher, you will be required to fulfill 10 hours of volunteer duties.

If you have chosen to fulfill your volunteer hours and not bought them out during initial registration,  you will be required to fulfill ALL of your hours.  Volunteer costs will not be prorated.

If you have any questions concerning volunteer hours, please contact the Becker Blast Volunteer Coordinator or any other member of the Becker Blast Board for assistance.
